He's the best damn songwriter goin today. He's not a bad singer and a damn fine guitar player too. If you're a fan of DAMN GOOD, adult, mature, kick ass MUSIC. Meet me at the Granada Saturday night. We used to play this around here. It seems to fit more than ever. And one more thing....When James McMurtry or ANY Musician slows it down and is on stage with just an acoustic guitar....SHUT THE F**K UP and get off your phone. The slower parts of live shows are NOT your cue to start yapping. Walk your ass outside if you can't be quiet. Some people are actually there to see the artists play their songs and not listen to you run your mouth.
There's another debate tonight...8PM

And this one should be good. The country is deep into a recession/depression...whatever you wanna call it. W has one foot out the door and doesn't seem to care or be willing to TRY to do anything. Whomever "wins" this election is gonna inherit a fine mess. The mudslinging and out & out lies are goin from both sides. The candidates will be seated at a table and it should be verrrry interesting. 8pm tonight

Bio
I'm a born and raised Texan. I was born in Houston and grew up in Kilgore. I was raised on the Lone Star music. If I wasn't on the air, I really think I'd be a Texas history teacher. I worked a year or 2 in Victoria and loved being so close to Goliad, San Antonio, and the history of that part of the state. If you know what "COME AND TAKE IT" means or where Presidio La Bahia is, then you understand. I used to import Wolf Brand and brisket when I lived out of state. I almost fell down when I finally saw Blue Bell in the freezer at Wal Mart in N.C. A dear friend of mine came down to Texas a few times with me. It took her a little bit, but she finally got "it" about Texas and Texans. Her favorite saying is "YOU PEOPLE!!!!" I'll smile and say "Damn right". She now has me send her cans of Wolf Brand. I love playin the classics and I also love turning folks on to new music and seeing them become passionate about it. I think Willie Nelson is the coolest son of a bitch walking the face of the earth today. I think James McMurtry is the best songwriter goin today. I think Billy Joe Shaver should be a househould name. I love how a song can transport you to another place in time. no matter if it's a good or not so good memory...a song can transport you back to that place in a second. I'm very proud to be on a station like Lone Star. Tune in and we'll make some of those GOOD memories.
