Bruce Springsteen's 'Nebraska' Film, "Closer to Reality"

The rumored film about Bruce Springsteen making Nebraska is one step closer to reality.

Deadline reports that director-writer Scott Cooper is working on a script for Deliver Me From Nowhere, based on the Warren Zanes’ 2023 book about the making of the 1982 album. Cooper is best known for directing Jeff Bridges to a Best Actor Oscar for Crazy Heart, which is about a washed up country singer.

The Bear star Jeremy Allen White is top choice to play Springsteen, but negotiations haven’t begun yet with the Emmy-winning actor. The film's producers hope to start shooting in New Jersey this fall. Spingsteen and his manager Jon Landau are both heavily involed in the project.
