Sammy Hagar Gets Ready to Introduce Us to Sammy Island

Like many of their fellow artists, Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony haven't cashed out on their music catalog, publishing and likeness. While that might not be a good fit for the Van Halen song, Sammy says there was one song that was perfect for a commercial. But, there is one thing Sammy has started to part with.

The Cobra was built in 2020 and is a continuation of the 1962 model.

Painted Wimbledon White with a black leather interior, it sports a small-block V8 engine with 586 original miles, a glove box signed by Hagar, and all modern amenities.

The Hillbank Motor Corporation in Irvine, California is handling the sale, with the asking price at $279,950. Details at HillbankUSA.com.

As for his 2015 La Ferrari, it was pulled from the Barrett-Jackson auction in January in Scottsdale, Arizona because it needs a new battery, which you obviously can't get at your local auto supply store. But, while expensive at $5,000, it is cheaper than the Cobra.

The La Ferrari is estimated to sell for upwards of three-million, if not more, and will now go up for bids in October.

In Other Sammy Hagar News....

Sammy Hagar said last year his dream is to "have a Cabo Wabo Resort, and in that resort would be everything I'm made of. There would have to be a Sammy's Beach Bar & Grill by the poolside or oceanside, because it also has to be on the ocean, I think. It doesn't have to be, but it should be."

Well, instead of dipping his toe in the water, he's testing the desert as he's teamed with the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas on Sammy’s Island, a tropical pool getaway inspired by his music and Cabo Wabo brand.

The area will feature a poolside restaurant and bar, as well as a stage for performances.

“Sammy’s Island is something I’ve dreamed about for years and the pool at Palms is the perfect location for it,” says Hagar, who has been instrumental in the design and overall setting of the Cabo-inspired oasis.

“In addition to their Pearl Theater being one of my favorite places to play, the Palms has a gorgeous pool deck with multiple pools and a stage for live music, which is undergoing a total transformation into Sammy’s Island. I couldn’t be more grateful to the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians and the entire team at the Palms for making this dream a reality.”

Sammy's Island at Palms Pool will open on May 17th.
