Bruce Springsteen Movie in the Works Based on '82 Album Nebraska

If the not always reliable Showbiz 411 is to be believed, Bruce Springsteen is looking to have a movie made about the making of his 1982 acoustic album, Nebraska.

The website reports that he's collaborating with director-writer Scott Cooper, known for the film Crazy Heart, which is about a washed up country singer, played by Jeff Bridges.

For those who don't know, Springsteen recorded the album on a four-track tape deck at his home in Colts Neck, New Jersey.

He says the album was inspired by the 1973 film Badlands.

In other Springsteen news, the latest live album in archival series was captured on July 23rd, 2013 in Cardiff, Wales during his Wrecking Ball tour.

The handful of rarities on the album are “TV Movie” from the Tracks box set, “Cynthia,” “Summertime Blues,” “Tougher Than the Rest” and a cover of The Animals‘ “We Gotta Get Out of This Place” featuring a guest appearance by The Animals’ Eric Burdon.

The album is available at Nugs.net.
