New Releases from the Def Leppard Vault?

In 2021, Def Leppard unlocked their online vault. It contains artifacts and more, with related stories from the band, and you can access it a LeppardVault.com.

Now comes news that in their real vault they have found unreleased songs they recorded for their debut album, 1980's On Through the Night.

Drummer Rick Allen, during an appearance on the Jeremy White Show podcast, said, "We thought that the tapes had been destroyed, but it turns out that they exist. So we were able to pull some versions and some songs that have never been heard from those tapes, which is fantastic.”

While not saying specifically what the plan is regarding those tapes, he didn't discount them being released.

“There’s always room for another box set,” he said with a smirk.

Elsewhere in the interview, Allen said he is still dealing with the trauma of being assaulted outside the Four Seasons hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida this past March.

"When I hear footsteps behind me, I use shop windows like a rear-view mirror these days just to check out who's behind me. So it did bring stuff up. But I'm trying to work through it the best I can. And I'm just looking forward to being home and continuing to work through it."

A 19-year-old man was arrested, but no motive was given for the attack.
