Dallas Stars Back In 'Blackout' Alternate Jersey

For the past week or so the Dallas Stars had been teasing the release of something new, most likely a new jersey design. Well, this morning all that was confirmed with the release of the franchise's new 'Blackout' alternate jersey. That means for the first time since the 2006 season the Stars will have THREE uniform options. Why black? Well, the Stars say it's a return to the team's roots, re-establishing black as a primary jersey color. On top of that there's the accent of 'Skyline Green' synonymous with the city of Dallas. I assume they're referring to the BofA Plaza building? Most notably, for the first time ever the State of Texas mark will be used on the crest of the sweater. Details of the new design also reveal a stylized Texas flag on the outside of the collar, while inside the collar is emblazoned with the "Come and Take it" flag, the same design as the 1835 flah fashioned by the settlers of Gonzales, Texas in the first military engagement of the Texas Revolution.

The new jerseys go on-sale Thursday at 9:00 am at HANGARHOCKEY.com
