Sony Releases New Walkman For 40th Anniversary

During my years in high school ('79-'82) there was no cooler accessory than the Sony Walkman. It was July 1st, 1979, when the Sony Walkman TPS-L2, the world’s first portable music player, went on sale. They weren't cheap. That first edition of the Walkman would set you back about $200 ($650 in 2019 money). Now, Sony has issued a 40th Anniversary edition of the Walkman. The limited edition model has a printed 40th anniversary logo on the rear panel and comes with a specially designed soft case and package, inspired by Sony's first portable cassette player. It also has a unique cassette tape interface for those who want to take a trip down memory lane.
