On Sunday our sister station 97.1 KEGL "The Eagle" threw their annual "Freaker's Ball" and on the bill was a little known band from Michigan called Greta Van Fleet. I say "little known" because I personally didn't know too much about them, until I heard the song "Highway Tune" on KEGL and it BLEW MY MIND! They sound just like a young, vibrant Led Zeppelin.

The band is made up of teenagers, yes teenagers. They formed in 2012 by brothers Josh Kiszka, Jake Kiszka, Sam Kiszka, and drummer Kyle Hauck. After Hauck left the band, Danny Wagner took his place.
In April 2017, they released their debut studio EP Black Smoke Rising and the debut single, "Highway Tune" has done so well, it's topped the Billboard US Mainstream Rock and Active Rock stations in September 2017. Thus, KEGL put them on the bill at "Freakers Ball."
